Keyboard escape in your browser

This is a +1 speed keyboard escape game for your browser, with no Roblox account, app or download. Press Play and you start at base, next to a giant keyboard. The same game runs on a computer, a Chromebook, a tablet or a phone, and it saves your progress automatically while you are online.

How a keyboard escape run works

Speed is your level. Every step you take on the course adds to it, and a small +1 pops above your runner to show each gain. The higher your Speed number, the faster you run.

Glass gates separate the stages. Each gate shows the Speed it needs: run into it with that much and it shatters. Short of it? Collect more steps, train on a treadmill at base, or bank your trophies and come back stronger.

Every stage you clear adds a trophy to the current run. Bank the run at base and those trophies raise the Speed of every future step, unlock faster treadmills and earn new sound packs, trails and costumes.

World 1: fifteen keyboard rooms

The course climbs through five colour zones of three stages each, from the mint keys of the first rooms to the glowing RGB Core at the summit. Each room teaches one new key, from Delete rows that drop under you to Enter keys that launch you over the pit. The stage guide has the Speed for every gate and a tip for every room.

Rebirth for the long run

Once Stage 15 is behind you and your Speed reaches 78,000, you can rebirth at base. It is always your choice: Speed resets, trophies and earned items stay, and each rebirth multiplies every later gain. Speed & rebirth has the full numbers.

Keyboard escape codes, gifts and Speed Storms

These are Speed Obby's own codes; codes for the Roblox game don't work here. Enter them on the Gifts tab for free Gems, once each:

  • SPEEDOBBY for 100 Gems
  • KEYBOARD for 50 Gems
  • FIRSTKEYS for 25 Gems

Gems also come from banked stages, a daily gift and a playtime gift. They buy permanent Speed upgrades, Treadmill Turbo, Speed Potions, trails, auras and costumes in the Shop.

Speed Storms double every gain for everyone online. They start on weekdays at 4:00 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm, Eastern time, and each lasts 20 minutes.

Controls

Keyboard: WASD or the arrow keys to run, Space to jump, and hold the right mouse button and drag to turn the camera. Escape opens the menu. On a phone or tablet, run with the left-thumb joystick and tap JUMP. A gamepad uses the left stick, the bottom face button and the right stick. How to play covers settings, saves and every control. Can I play keyboard escape online for free?

Yes. This keyboard escape runs free in your browser, with no download and no sign-up. Gems, the in-game currency, come from playing and gifts, and they can't be bought.

Is this the Roblox Keyboard Escape?

No. Speed Obby is an independent browser game with its own stages, art, sounds and code. It is not affiliated with Roblox or with the Roblox game +1 Speed Keyboard Escape, you don't need a Roblox account to play, and Roblox codes don't work here.

How many stages are in keyboard escape?

World 1 has 15 stages in five zones of three. Every stage ends at a safe stop with a glass gate into the next one, and after Stage 15 you can rebirth and run the world again with bigger gains.

How do you beat Stage 12 and Stage 15?

On Stage 12, Roller Rapids, steer into a free lane before a key ball reaches you and keep pushing against the backward belts. Stage 15, The Grand Enter, mixes every key from the world: clear one obstacle at a time and rest on the cream keys between them. A fall keeps your Speed and puts you back at your last checkpoint.

How does rebirth work in keyboard escape?

Clear Stage 15, reach the rebirth Speed and return to base. Rebirth sets your Speed back to zero but keeps your trophies and items, and every later step is worth 1.5 times as much. Each rebirth stacks on the last.

Does keyboard escape have codes?

Yes, this game has its own gift codes for free Gems. The current ones are listed on this page; enter them on the Gifts tab of the menu, and each works once per player.

When is keyboard escape admin abuse?

This game's version of an admin abuse event is the Speed Storm. Storms run at the same times every week, double every Speed gain while they last and show a countdown in the game. The weekly times are listed on this page in Eastern time.

Can you trade or gift items in keyboard escape?

No. Items can't be traded or sent to other players. The Gifts tab is where you collect your own daily and playtime Gems.

Does keyboard escape work on a Chromebook or phone?

It runs in browsers with WebGL 2, including Chrome on most Chromebooks, and on phones and tablets with touch controls. If it stutters, choose Low graphics in Settings.
